Your Trusted Chrome Partner

Strategic Minerals - Led by Chrome.
GTG Resources' primary focus is on chrome ore and concentrate. We supply high-quality material into global markets, supported by strong sourcing networks and integrated logistics capabilities.

A Critical Industrial Mineral
Chromium, derived from chromite ore, is a key element in modern industry. Approximately 92% of global chromium production is used in steelmaking, with stainless steel accounting for the majority of demand.

Global Supply Dynamics
Over 95% of the world's chromite resources are located in Southern Africa and Kazakhstan. South Africa holds approximately 70% of global chrome reserves but only produces around 20% of the world's ferrochrome.

Chrome Resources
Chrome in South Africa is primarily sourced from the Bushveld Igneous Complex (BIC), including the UG2 seam, LG and MG chromitite seams, and Eastern Bushveld (Steelpoort Valley). Zimbabwe also holds vast quantities of chrome resources.
From Ore To Ferrochrome
Raw chrome ore cannot be used directly in steel production. It must first be smelted in an electric furnace with a carbon reductant to produce ferrochrome, the primary input for stainless steel manufacturing.

The global ferrochrome industry is concentrated in China, India, South Africa, and Kazakhstan, accounting for over 90% of global production.

Typically 40–42% Crâ‚‚O₃ and above, used in ferrochrome production.
Chrome Concentrate

Run-of-mine material for processing and beneficiation.
Chrome Ore (ROM)
Global Demand Patterns
China is the largest consumer of chrome ore and ferrochrome, driven by its stainless steel production capacity. A significant portion of South African and Zimbabwean chrome exports is directed into China.

South Africa remains the dominant exporter of chrome ore, with China as the largest importing market, consuming more than half of global traded chrome ore.

Sized ore (34% Cr₂O₃ and above) for direct smelting.
Chrome Lump

Fine material used in agglomeration processes.
